Stuart Nachmias leads Con Edison’s wholesale transmission business, bringing clean energy from production to where it is needed to meet customers’ energy needs. He also serves as Chair of the Board of Managers for New York Transco, a transmission company comprised of New York’s four investor-owned utilities.
Before becoming president and CEO of Con Edison Transmission in 2020, Mr. Nachmias was Vice President of Energy Policy and Regulatory Affairs for Con Edison, responsible for developing regulatory strategy and company positions on federal and state electric and gas policy issues. He also managed company relations with federal and state energy regulators, and system operators including the New York Independent System Operator and PJM Interconnection.
He holds an MBA in finance from Baruch College and a bachelor’s degree in both economics and psychology from Binghamton University. He has an advanced certificate in energy management and completed the distribution system engineering program through Power Technologies, Inc. Mr. Nachmias is an active board member of the Tenement Museum and the Queens County Farm Museum.
