Michael Shimazu is the Senior Advisor for Business Growth and Innovation at the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), where he has led investment programs in climate technology startups, as well as programs in business model innovation, venture attraction and acceleration, and clean energy exploratory research. Michael has been a founder and corporate officer of a venture-backed company, and has made a career of bringing technologies to market at the intersection of startup companies, universities, and government.
He holds an S.B. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and M.S. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
