Christopher Raup

Christopher Raup is the Vice President of Energy Policy and Regulatory Affairs at Con Edison. Chris and the Energy Policy and Regulatory Affairs team manage state and federal regulatory engagement for the Con Edison and Orange & Rockland electric and gas utilities on topics including renewable energy, advanced metering infrastructure, electric vehicles, heat pumps and alternatives to natural gas.

Chris is a mechanical engineer by training and started working in the energy utility industry in 1996, joining Con Edison in 2006. He has worked on wholesale electric market issues, natural gas pipelines, electric demonstration projects, electric vehicle programs and the development of innovative energy efficiency, battery storage and rate design efforts. Most recently he has focused on developing Con Edison’s clean energy policy positions, leading the development of comments on New York State’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act draft scoping plan and policy proposals coming from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on transmission planning and natural gas pipeline permitting.
